Whether you’re managing one property or multiple, RentBetter allows you to track all rental payments and tenant bills together in a single view. No more clicking around to check if you’ve been paid - everything you need is right there, ready to go.

The Payments Report page gives you a clear overview of all your payments in one place. You can filter by a selected time period and easily download or export a specific report related to the payments for your property.

How to Use the Payments Report

To navigate to the payments reports section of the platform, on the left-hand navigation menu, click on 'Reporting' > 'Payments'.

Select a Property to View

  • In the payments report dashboard, you can either review all payments that have been captured under income for all your properties, or you can filter to look at a specific property.

Payment Filtering Options:

Filter by Date

  • You can choose to filter the report by financial year or any other custom date of your choosing from the date filter.

Filter by Income Type

  • You can filter the report by income type - choose to view only rental income, other income, or display all income together.

Filter by Payment Status

  • You can also filter the report by payment status, making it easy to quickly identify any payments that are overdue or that are awaiting payment.

  • Paid: The amount that tenants have already paid.

  • Overdue: The amount that is past the due date and has not been paid.

  • Awaiting Payment: The amount that has been sent but is waiting for payment from the tenant.

  • Draft: The amount that has not yet been sent to the tenant and is waiting to be finalised by you.

Review Payment Details

  • Click on a payment to bring up further details via the side panel.

  • You can view and download the receipt for any payment if its paid, as well as see the full payment history related to it.

  • For any tenant bills, you can view and edit them, and if a bill payment is overdue, you can resend a reminder to your tenant by clicking the ‘Resend Tenant Bill’ button.

Download or Export Report

  • Export the report by clicking 'Export report' and selecting either PDF or Excel, which will download a copy of the report to your device.


Payments Report FAQs

How are payments added to the report?

Payments appear are automatically added to the payments report when you add bills, rent charges, or any other payments from tenants under their tenancy.

Can I view payments across multiple properties?

Yes. Use the All Properties filter to see all payments together, or select a specific property to view only those payments.

Can I customise the date range?

Yes, you can use the date filters to customise the report by financial year, by month or by custom dates of your choosing.

How do I know if a payment is overdue?

Overdue payments are highlighted in red and will show the overdue amount clearly in the table and at the top of the page. You can view individual overdue payments by clicking on them to bring up further details via the side panel.

Is the Bond captured in the payments report?

Yes, the bond is included in your Payments Report, but it is not classed as income. If you’re specifically looking for bond payments, you can also easily view them in the Bond section of your account. This is the best place to track and manage any bond-related transactions.
